Potty Training!

Potty training is a BEAST! Ian has already peed in random places and on random things. He has even pooped on the floor and then stepped in it... You can only imagine what that looked like! He is starting to understand that he needs to tell me when he needs to go ( And I am learning to ask him every five seconds whether he needs to go or not).  Today we had a breakthrough. He told me he needed to go and took his own diaper off and then he has used the potty ever since this morning. I know that there are lots of ups and downs when it comes to potty training but this is huge for him! Now to keep it up is going to be tough but hopefully he keeps up with telling me!

Family Visit!

Nana, Jordan, Chelsea and Halli came for a visit on Saturday... We had Indian food, took a drive to Preston, Idaho in search of the Bear River Massacre monument (we didn't find it but thats ok :) ) and just hung out.  Here are some pictures from Saturday. I can not get over how cute Emmaline is!

P is for Peart

I found this Pinterest post and wanted to try it out. Here is the original link.

Here is how mine turned out. Not too bad!

Shoes!

Ian really enjoys trying on shoes... My uncle gave us some clothes and shoes for Emmaline when she gets a little bigger. These were in there, so Ian tried them on. I thought he was being really cute! Look at Emmaline in the background wondering what he is doing. She takes everything in!

Canada Flag Bow!

I have been working a lot on different types of bows for my daughter and friends who have/are having baby girls. I have really enjoyed Pinterest and all that it has to offer when it comes to different bows.  I have tried many of them, some of them have come out really well (I will try to get pictures) and others have turned out really badly. (I just threw them away). I found this bow where a woman made a Canada Flag bow. So for Canada thanksgiving I made it, and loved the way it turned out. The original link is here

This is what mine looked like when it was complete.

Here is Emmaline wearing the bow, waiting for her Thanksgiving dinner!

DIY workout tank!

I have been getting a lot of useful (and not so useful) tips on Pinterest.  i have been doing a mini Pinterest challenge with myself. I have been able to get a few things to look like I wanted them to look. I liked how this DIY workout tank turned out and I may do it again.
 Here is the original line

Tools: T-shirt and scissor

This t-shirt is REALLY old, its a terrible picture but I was just going to throw it out.
Miss Kiwi thought she could help.
Even though she is SUPER cute, she helped very little.

Cut as close to the seam of the collar as you can.

Cut the sleeves off as close to the seam as you can.

Take the sleeve that was cut off and cut it into a piece  2" by 8".
Then wrap it around the sleeves in the back to make it  tight.
Tie it off and put the knot on the inside of the shirt.
Finished product.
Can you see Kiwi's tail?

Play Time at the Pearts

The kids were playing so well together and having so much fun! We were just letting them go at it and the next thing we knew Ian was asleep on the floor! Emmaline continued playing on the floor and she was even putting toys on his head.  He didn't even stir. I guess Emmaline completely wore him out!

Some Pennies with my Cereal?

Ian has what is called "Leaky chin syndrome," His father has the same disease :)

Ian and Daddy were having a late night snack of some cereal.  Ian was asking if he could have something in it. Jonathan did not understand and called me over. This is the conversation I had with him
Ian: Can I have some pennies in my cereal?
Me: You can't eat pennies.
Ian: But I want to eat pennies.

Where does he come up with this stuff.

3rd place!

Our Apartment complex had a Halloween costume competition for all the people who wore costumes. My children won third place. Not sure what that entails but they sure do look cute!

Halloween 2012

Halloween is always an exhausting day! My children had so much fun doing all the things Logan has to offer. Halloween is actually a lot of fun in Logan! First, I took them to historic Logan city in the center of town. Each of the shops and businesses give out welcome trick or treaters all day long.  We walked about 5 blocks up and back. I only brought the single stroller, so Ian had to walk and he did a really great job keeping up.
Then, we went to Lee's marketplace, where they gave out some really awesome things. Like a Monster's Inc  bag, string cheese, caramel corn, cookies and milk. Ian also really enjoyed going there.
After that we came home and made many cupcakes for our church Halloween party. The kids played the entire time and just had a good time with the other kids.

Ian did not want to leave his hood on so I got no pictures of him wearing it!

Emmaline in Wonderland

Logan has the dinkiest mall in the whole world.  But it does have an indoor play area. When the weather is cold, I take the kids there to run around and have a good time. Emmaline is just becoming old enough to really enjoy playing.
I sent this picture to my mom of Emmaline, and she wrote back to me saying she looked like she was Alice in Wonderland because of the big cupcake and sundae cup!

Toronto, Ontario August 2012

I know I have already talked about this summer but I received some new pictures and wanted to post them here of my beautiful children! We had such a fun time with my family in Toronto after Aaron and Kadri's wedding.

Ian and Megan played with each other all day and they had so much fun!
I love Ontario in the summer/fall...it is my favorite place on earth!

Pinterest Challenge!

I am trying out this pinterest challenge.
 Here is the sit

Most of the projects I attempt are all pinterest inspired. The original Pinterest post here

Here is how mine turned out!

This is a table runner for Halloween. I am also going to give a special shout out to Chelsea Peart for helping me glue all the ribbon down :)

Skull Valley, Utah

Well Jonathan has been gone for one week. He is in Skull Valley, Utah which is about an hour outside of Touille.  This should be his last time being away for the season (we hope :) ).
The kids and I always have a hard time when he goes away.  I don't sleep well, getting up to check the locks and such. The kids did not sleep very well the first night either. I have been letting both of them sleep in the bed with me. I have tried to keep myself busy by taking the kids to the library, a high school football game( go east),  a dollar movie and tumbling.  It has mostly worked in keeping us busy and not missing Jonathan as much as we have in the past. With the exception of Ian dislocating his radial head, it has been a pretty smooth week.
One week down and one to go. Hopefully it goes as smoothly as the first week, (minus the trip to the emergency room).

Nurse Maid Elbow

Poor Ian had a hard day yesterday. We were in the Library and we were getting ready to leave and Ian was sitting in a chair next to one of the computers.  I grabbed one of his arms and directed him towards the door.  After he got in the car he was complaining the seat belt was too tight.  When I got him out of the car he was unable to use his left arm at all.  The way he was holding it, he looked like her had dislocated something. I took him to Emergency. They popped his elbow back into place and said that he had nurse maid syndrome where the radial head dislocates because the elbow is not mature yet.  It usually happens when the arm is being pulled.  I feel so badly about Ian's arm and the pain he was in. He is doing much better today, just sleeping a lot.

Canadian Thanksgiving

We were able to celebrate Thanksgiving with Jonathan's mom, brother and sister-in-law and my dear friend's Cassie and Eric.  We cooked a fabulous dinner (and by "we" I mean Jonathan). It was a fun experience.  Maybe, one day in the not so distant future, we can be in Canada to celebrate this but as for right now we have to do it in Utah. Here are some pictures that were taken.
Ian is trying to be tough and growl!

Never seen a cuter little girl in all the world!

She is almost ready to walk on her own!
