No more Job but...

So I ended up giving my great Americorp Job.  But they just would not work with me. I am starting to apply for jobs to see if anything sticks.  In the mean time, I will be heading out to see my parents and siblings on August 15th.  I get to help my dad pack for South Carolina.  And we will probably get to see my Canadian family.  So its not the end of the world.  Hopefully, I will find a job soon but if not I get to stay at home with my baby and spend time with him!

Moving, Finishing My Job etc...

So we are finally back online after almost two weeks of crazy Comcast not showing up to install our internet.  We have finally moved completely into our new three bedroom apartment and we love it! It is so nice to have two full bathrooms, three bedrooms and a few hundred square feet more than we have ever had in an apartment.  Great for the three of us and our two cats.  We are pretty happy with this change in our lives.  Hopefully its the last move we make in the Logan, Utah area.
My Americorps job will be finishing up on 13 August.  This last year being an Americorps was awesome and I really enjoyed it.  This summer was pretty easy but definitely not as much fun as it was this past year.  I have an opportunity to go back for this next school year for my final year as an Americorps.  I am not sure I should take the job for a few reasons:
1. You make way below the poverty line and it is only worth it if you get the money toward your student loans.
2. I may not the get the money because I am having a baby in February and Jonathan graduates in December, both of which could get in the way of completing in my year and keep me from getting my student loan stipend.
3. It has nothing to do with my long term career goals.
4. I am extremely burnt out after this summer of crappy summer school with really rude children and horrible camps with not so nice co-workers and the past week with a new principal who doesn't want to have Americorp at her school as it is.

But there are some really positive benefits of being an Americorps:
1. They put my student loans into forbearance and pay all the interest until I complete my year with them.
2. You get a lump sum of money every month no matter how much you work during that month.  So August, December and June, I still get a decent amount of money when there is very few days we are in school.
3. The hours are perfect for having a babysitter and I am part time so I still get to spend some time with Ian during the day.
4. If I finish my year with them, then I get my student loan stipend and I am paying off quite a bit with the other two Americorp stipends and its nice to do a big amount all at the same time.

We will see what I end up doing, I can always look for another job and see what I can get or I can stay home with Ian... both are not bad ideas either.
